Internships
Empowering Lives International desires to motivate Christians worldwide to invest their lives and gifts in the mission of empowerment. One of the ways we do this is through internships. We rejoice to see Christians take this step of faith and follow God's leading to serve and learn from the "least of these" on the other side of the world.
Interns are welcome any time during the year and most serve with us for one to two months. Interns serve at one of two sites in Kenya: the village of Ilula, where ELI has a Training Center, primary school, and Children's Home, and the village of Kipkaren, where ELI has a Training Center, Children's Home, health clinic, and primary school.
An internship trip typically costs between $3300 and $4300 depending on the time of year, the length of the trip, how many shots you need, if you decide to do a safari at the end, etc. On top of this, we ask interns to help raise money for the ministry projects they are going to be involved with.
The internship offers a unique experience to truly invest and become part of the ELI family in Kenya. Interns live in the village and literally become part of a family in the Children's Home, supporting the parents and loving the children. For interns that are medically trained, we offer an opportunity to work in the medical clinic in the village.
