Ministry Information
While living and serving in Kenya, interns have the amazing opportunity to build solid and long-lasting relationships. In Africa, relationships always come before projects. Interns should come prepared as learners, as the Kenyans will have much to teach about life, God, faith, community, and love.
ELI offers internships relating to the Children's Homes and healthcare ministries. The ELI Children's Homes each house 96 children, divided into four families. Every home has four sets of house parents, each now raising 24 new children for life! Interns are matched up to become part of these families during their time in Kenya. They eat all their meals with the children, have fellowship together with them every night at devotions, help with homework, laundry, getting the children ready for school, and all the other daily activities of life at the home. Interns build life-changing relationships with the house parents as well as the children.
We welcome medically trained people to intern at the ELI health clinic. Interns can assist with daily check-ups, shots, treating malaria, and all the other needs that arise throughout the day as patients come to the clinic. We appreciate interns who are trained and have knowledge about medical issues that can benefit the staff at the clinic!
ELI is committed to seeing individuals use their specific skills and passions as they serve with our ministry in Kenya. If God has given you a specific skill and placed a certain calling on your heart, please let us know and we may be able to adjust parts of the internship to better utilize your gifts and calling.
