Cheboiywa Clinic
Through the work of the Cheboiywa Health Clinic near the village of Kipkaren, Kenya, ELI is able to treat common ailments and injuries, educate families about preventative health, vaccinate them against frequent illness, provide malaria programs in local schools, bring new babies into the world in a sanitary environment, and so much more. The clinic operates a general patient care wing, a Maternal Child Health wing, an eye clinic, laboratory services, dental services, observation, and Voluntary Counseling and Testing services for those seeking to know their HIV status. A recent review of the health conditions in the community showed an amazing 75% drop in the incidences of common illnesses since the inception of the clinic. There are currently seven Kenyan nationals on staff serving as nurses, dentists, and lab technicians. People from surrounding churches are now coming to the Cheboiywa Clinic to receive training in home-based care as well as skills to assist in child delivery in their own villages. Truly, God is spreading a message of hope through the services provided at the Cheboiwya Health Clinic.
