Children's Homes

Empowering Lives International currently operates two Children’s Homes in Kenya - housing 96 orphans at each. The children live in a family environment and are provided with caring Christian parents.

Each parent couple—African nationals who are dedicated to loving the children with God’s love—care for 12 boys and 12 girls in addition to any of their own biological children. Each family's home consists of four buildings: A full home for the parents, a circular bedroom for the boys, a circular bedroom for the girls, and a multi-purpose room used for meals, schoolwork, and daily devotions.

None of the parent couples employed by ELI see this ministry as just a job. To them, it is a holy calling. They are committed to seeing the children grow up to realize that God is their Father. They aim to see the children become strongly rooted in God’s word. Academically, they want to see each child complete high school. (If a child desires to continue to college, ELI hopes to be able to provide a way for them to do so.) They want to see the children join the workforce, take up leadership positions in Africa, and further the Kingdom of God wherever life takes them.
