Director of Ukweli Training Center - Ilula, Kenya

In 1996, I was blessed with the opportunity to found Empowering Lives International with Don Rogers and David Tarus. As part of that initial vision to empower the poor and oppressed, my wife Rhoda and I opened the Ukweli Training and Development Center in Ilula, Kenya, where we now live and serve as Directors. We also founded Samro School, a private preschool and elementary school adjacent to the Training Center. The school educates community children as well as the orphans from the Ilula Children's Home.

Both Rhoda and I love to teach the life skills that the Training Center offers, but I am the principal trainer while Rhoda focuses the majority of her time on Samro School. We also serve to encourage the Director and parents at the Ilula Children's Home as well as the teachers at Samro. I also manage ELI's activities with the Kenyan government and other non-profit organizations.
