Special Projects Advancement
I first joined ELI in 1994 and ministered in a village on the outskirts of Mwanza, Tanzania amongst the Wasukuma people. Over the next year, I helped to plant over 30 community youth ministries throughout Northwest Tanzania called NYUMBA YA YESU (Kiswahili for “house of Jesus”). I also worked with local musicians to promote indigenous worship in the churches. Additionally, I assisted with the administration of micro-enterprise development and a micro-loan program. I moved to Kenya in 1996 to be a lecturer in the music department at Daystar University until 1999 and then rejoined ELI in 2001. I presently reside in Nairobi, Kenya, but travel around Kenya as well as to Eastern Congo to assist with various ELI ministries.I currently serve as the project director for the Dynamic Business Start-Up Program (DBSP Kenya). DBSP Kenya provides outcome-based foundational business trainings and aftercare support to entrepreneurially-motivated persons, particularly those from an economically disadvantaged background, so that they are able to improve or establish their own viable, sustainable business. I am responsible for raising up, developing, and managing a team of Kenyan trainer/facilitators for the courses. I also deal with all of the operational aspects of the project, including the scheduling and organizing of courses, promotion and fundraising, participant database management, and financial oversight. I also continue to support the ministry of ELI Congo through assisting with the sponsorship program at the ELI School in the Keredi slum of Bukavu in Eastern Congo.
