Raised amidst the throes of poverty in a small rural village, Diana bore witness to the unyielding struggles her lonely mother and other women faced, left to fend for their families in a cycle of adversity. Armed with knowledge passed down from older generations, and through self-teaching, Diana began experimenting with different brewing techniques as a way to provide.

This skill of brewing a toxic moonshine like alcohol called changaa made her famous among the local drunks, and wanted by the local police. For over 15 years, her fame soared, yet the constant dance with authorities came with it. Then, an unexpected twist entered her narrative. While transporting her brew to promised customers in June of 2023, her taxi motorbike developed a mechanical problem. As the bike was being mended, she visited a nearby home to ask for a drink of water. It was in this random house she encountered Ruth sharing with a group of women brewers about her transformation journey and now her life as a World Changer.

Hearing the powerful message, she vowed to quit drinking and brewing; she even dumped the moonshine by her side out of a desire to change. Ruth's message of hope impacted Diana in a way that caused her to believe that a new life was possible by changing her habits and surrendering her life to Jesus Christ.

Diana asked Ruth what she needed to do to receive this brewer's training. Because faithful partners like you who give so hurting hearts never have to wait to receive hope, she immediately attended an ELI training. Returning home, she started implementing what she learned from kitchen gardening, poultry farming, and soap making. Diana now supplies detergents to nearby schools. She also goes from house to house selling products from her new reputable business.

She admits life is not always easy but finds motivation every day. Her heart is filled with a sense of peace, knowing that her income honors God, unlike in past years. Since she has found God and His love for her, she knows that better things are on the horizon.

Her tenacity has not gone unnoticed; in her community, even with the daily struggles, she has already inspired six neighbors to quit brewing. Each one has been captivated by her journey and is eager to follow in her footsteps. She is an emerging leader in Kocholwo, Kenya, who will soon receive more training so even more people in her community can experience a similar transformation. Even her son has noticed the change saying, "Ever since my mom stopped brewing, our home has been free from police raids. Our household is now experiencing development, and most importantly, we have found peace."
