Empowerment Night Overview
ELI’s Empowerment Night is an event appropriate for all ages and stages of life. It is an immersive experience kicked off with a unique meal where participants learn about God's heart for the world and those stuck in poverty. You’ll be inspired by the many conversations that will follow, highlighting the epidemic of spiritual and physical poverty AND how you and I can help make a lasting difference.
Empowerment Nights are volunteer-led interactive dining events that bring statistics about poverty to life. Guests randomly receive tickets matching examples of people who experience one of three socio-economic classes representing the global wealth distribution.
Through no choice of their own, receiving this ticket demonstrates that people cannot choose the culture or family they are born into. But God has a plan! By the night's end, your participants will better understand how to empower those trapped in poverty and feel motivated to bring Kingdom transformation wherever they go.
Empowerment Night impacts and equips participants in a life-changing way with an awareness of the problem poverty perpetuates and pairs it with a dynamic Kingdom-driven solution you can help advance. This event is a great way to change people's lives in your circle of influence as you invite your small group, youth group, missions committee, scout troop, or other community into a hands-on experience they will never forget.

Goals of an Empowerment Night:
1. Educate - to broaden participants’ horizons and increase awareness of our world's spiritual and physical needs with a focus on Africa, one of the places greatest hit by extreme poverty but filled with opportunity.
2. Inspire - to ignite a fire in participants' hearts as they hear about and see examples of how orphans and suffering families are crushing poverty, embracing Christ, and sharing their transformation with neighbors and entire village areas across East Africa!
3. Activate - to motivate and commission participants to experience the reward that comes when we help meet the physical and spiritual needs of those trapped in poverty and to invite each participant to take a step of partnership with Empowering Lives to ignite and advance HOPE to even more people across East Africa.
