The ELI Academy in DR Congo

empowering a generation with Biblical knowledge and practical education

1,217 extremely vulnerable children and orphans along with hundreds of other children in a slum in DR Congo are being empowered:

There are hundreds of other siblings and parents of the students who are supported with food and community-based programs!

ELI ACADEMY COVID-19 UPDATE

It is hard to describe the impact being made right now in DR Congo. Even in the midst of a coronavirus lockdown, 650 children and 35 teachers and staff are working together in a creative way that has become a model other schools want to follow.

The teachers and staff feel they are more than employees or educators. They are coaches and mentors to all of the students from ages 4 to 20. A better tomorrow for DR Congo will come as these children in the Keredi slum are educated and empowered . . . and the staff considers it a privilege and honor to serve “the least of these.”

Please enjoy this video made by our Staff in the DR Congo.

Educating tomorrow's leaders because they are the ones who are going to change their world!

Empowering parents and guardians to run successful small businesses to uplift their families and communities.

Children are provided rice, beans, and porridge to ensure their fully bellies result in full hearts and minds.

An after-school mentoring program that incorporates arts, music, and creativity into tutoring.

Riziki had her basic needs met until the day tragedy struck. Then, the school that cared for her and her siblings in this difficult time also became the source of a new hope. And now her life is thriving again . . . because of you!

Nine children is a lot for a single parent to take care of. Ampa and Alimungu were going to have to return to their village to find work to help provide for the family. But they didn't want to leave the ELI Academy where they were flourishing. What they did to stay in school and provide for their family is truly inspiring!

Unimaginable trauma entered Dorcas's life at just 4 years old. But what was intended for evil resulted in so much good: Dorcas and her siblings were welcomed into the ELI Academy where they learned about God and received healing from their emotional wounds.

Empowering High Schoolers

Students pick an emphasis to study (like a major in college). Once they graduate with their diplomas stating the area of focused study, they are likely to be employed in that discipline. Currently we offer two emphases: teaching and business administration.
