Daniel Lelei

Daniel grew up in harsh conditions. His mother, a brewer, was away for long periods, so Daniel had to be the man of the house and care for his 5 siblings—even though he was just a boy of 10 years old. Little did Daniel know that these challenging experiences would eventually lead him to his life’s mission of helping others and encouraging children who were facing the same difficulties he once did.

On a fateful Sunday years ago, Daniel passed a small church and heard the joyful voices of children singing. To his surprise, he felt an immediate sense of relief and connection! Daniel then started attending Sunday school, where he found joy, peace, and love—fruits of the spirit that he so desperately desired to feel. This began a lifelong journey of knowing and sharing the Lord with others!

Even though Daniel’s life had been a struggle, he began to give back at an early age.
Never giving up on his desire to help others, give hope to the oppressed, and share joy with all, he relocated to Ndalat, Kenya, later in life and took on the role of Sunday School Committee Chairman. Before long, he recognized the need for more impactful children’s education about God and decided to take action.

Daniel set off to receive the necessary training and connected with Edna, ELI’s Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Through this connection, he quickly embraced a ministry of evangelism and deepened his guidance of children and nurturing of their faith.

Now well-equipped after the training your generosity made possible, Daniel has become a children’s pastor, spreading the love of the Father to children in his ever-increasing sphere of influence. You can often find Daniel’s home with its doors open and up to 50 children being encouraged and uplifted! Fifteen years of Daniel’s prayer and devotion have paid off in the lives of many children and families in the area.

Today, Daniel continues on his journey of sharing about the power of Christ with others he meets along his path. You can hear his heart in his very own words:
