Stanley
Though it’s hard to believe, Stanley, once a well-known drunkard, is now well-dressed and sober! God has transformed Stanley into a new creation, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

But this transformation was not easy. He was met with opposition as he grew in his faith and desired to pursue Christ wholeheartedly. When he wanted to go to Bible school, the leaders in his church told him it was impossible for many reasons: he had just been an alcoholic months before, he was a brand new Christian, and he was in no position to pursue this educational opportunity.

Stanley knew in his heart that his transformation was for others to experience. Not giving in to discouragement and opposition, he did the impossible. After three years of studying at a local Bible college, he graduated!
As Ephesians 1:11-12 tells us, “In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory.” Stanley’s story lifts us onto our feet, praising God for His good and perfect plan!
Hidden inside Stanley was a God-given destiny. While the enemy tried to bury it in shame and addiction, the Lord wouldn't have it. Stanley’s story is already impacting other people with the hope that even drunkards and alcoholics can receive the love of God and change. Stanley is a Man of Change who is eager to share his story and the love of God with all who would listen.
