Edwin’s story began innocently enough, a mere dalliance with the occasional alcoholic drink. Yet, as the years unfolded, so too did the shadows of addiction, ensnaring him in its demonic grip. With each sip, Edwin descended deeper into the abyss of alcoholism, a journey fraught with anguish and despair.

His once vibrant spirit became shrouded in darkness, casting a pall over his relationships, especially with his devoted wife and their two teenage children. They all pleaded with Edwin to stop drinking and stop his outbursts of anger and violent behavior. He was earning decent money with his casual jobs, but he squandered it on alcohol. This left little for his family—leading to further guilt and drinking. The family was being torn apart, and reconciliation seemed like a distant dream. But just when it seemed all hope was lost, a beacon of light pierced through the darkness, illuminating Edwin's path to redemption, all made possible by the unwavering generosity of our partners!

In his village, a few recovered alcoholics who had undergone ELI training encouraged Edwin through their own inspiring transformation. Edwin attended a sensitization session with the Kenya Anti-Alcoholic team in 2023 and began feeling the call to pursue further training.

Through God's grace, Edwin made the decision to answer that call and attend ELI training in hopes of experiencing the transformation he had seen in others. By the second day of training, he was regenerated and welcomed Jesus into his life. Then, through the power of the Holy Spirit, his desire for alcohol was completely removed!

This transformation affected not only Edwin, but his entire family, who are now whole and living in peace, love, and harmony. This journey needed to take place, and the Lord’s grace gave Edwin the power to persevere. Edwin is now excited about the road ahead, his new beginning, his family restoration, and his newfound relationship with the creator of the universe.
