Angelina
Angelina, a mother of six living in the hills of Iten, Kenya, is a woman who has experienced great hardship . . . but also great transformation!
When her older children reached college age, she wanted to support them as their mother. But with no steady income and bills piling up, she turned to the only option she could find at the time—brewing illegal alcohol. It was risky, but it brought in money, so she continued. During the day, she cared for her children. At night, she would work in secret, always worried about police raids, neighborhood gossip, and the look of disappointment in her kids’ eyes.
Then one day, she met Grace, a Woman of Change who experienced powerful transformation through ELI training. Grace shared her story, and something about it lit a spark of hope in Angelina. So, she decided to join a women’s training group. That decision marked the beginning of a new chapter!
She began to believe change was possible and slowly let go of her past. Using the skills she learned through training, she planted cabbage, bought chickens, and invested in a dairy cow. What started small grew into something truly impactful.
Now, instead of hiding, she shows up at the local market with fresh vegetables. Her home feels alive with laughter, she is earning a God-honoring income, and she is able to support her children. “I used to hide, now I walk tall. My heart is full.”
Angelina isn’t just surviving . . . she’s thriving! Her story is proof that even when life feels impossible, a spark of hope and the right support can change everything.
