Judith Kosgey
For years, Judith Kosgey lived a life that looked profitable on the surface but left her heart restless and empty.
She once brewed up to 300 cups of changa’a a day, earning enough to get by, yet living with constant anxiety, exhaustion, and a deep sense of emptiness. “I brewed, sold, and drank alcohol while still going to church, but I had no peace,” Judith recalls. The money never seemed to last, and neither did her joy. Sleepless nights, fear, and restlessness became part of her everyday life.
Then, through God’s guidance and an opportunity to partner with ELI, everything changed!
After attending sessions at ELI’s Ilula Training Center, Judith made a courageous decision to walk away from brewing alcohol. In its place, she began a small maize-roasting business—an honest livelihood that brought not only income, but dignity and peace. The transformation was immediate and deeply personal.
“There is no peace in brewing; only fear, sleepless nights, and loss. But now, I care for my family with a clear mind.”
Today, Judith provides for her family with joy and confidence, grateful for the life God has rebuilt. Her testimony is a powerful reminder that lasting transformation is possible! Thank you for empowering lives with us and for being a vital part of not only Judith’s story, but also the many others who are now living their days filled with joy, confidence, and the hope of Jesus.
