Veronica

Veronica’s journey began in a village in Migorri County, where life was defined more by circumstance than choice. She never completed primary school, and at a young age, she was married and soon became a mother of three. What should have been a new chapter of hope quickly turned into one of hardship.

Her marriage was marked by deep struggle. She endured physical abuse, and at one point the violence got so bad she was hospitalized. Faced with the reality of her situation, she made the difficult but courageous decision to leave, choosing uncertainty over continued harm.

With her children in mind, Veronica moved to the city to start again. Life in the city was not easy. With limited education and no formal employment opportunities, she took on whatever work she could find. She washed clothes, cleaned homes, and did manual jobs just to provide a basic living. But even in those challenging days, Veronica had a quiet determination to save small amounts, and a bigger vision in mind.

Eventually, she took a bold step and started a small business selling second-hand T-shirts. It was modest, but it was hers.

Her journey took a transformative turn when she joined the Business for Life training.
For the first time, she began to see her business not just as a means of survival, but as a vehicle for growth. She learned how to think strategically, manage her finances, and position herself in the market.

Today, her business is thriving and strategically positioned in Kawangware. What started as a small side business has grown into a stable and promising enterprise. More importantly, she has grown alongside her business, becoming more confident, decisive, and forward-looking.

“The training opened my eyes,” she shares. “I now see possibilities where I only saw problems before.” Veronica’s journey is not just about business success, it is about courage and the power of opportunity. From a life marked by hardship, she has built a future defined by purpose and hope.

With renewed vision and confidence, she dreams bigger, determined to expand her business and create an even better life for her children.

Her journey reminds us that with the right support and opportunity, transformation is possible no matter where someone starts—and because of partners like you, stories like hers don’t end in hardship, but in hope!
