Fred Simiyu
“My name is Fred Simiyu. My wife's name is Ruth Simiyu and God has blessed us with 6 children. I did the agriculture training at ELI’s Ilula Training Center in 2019.

“Initially, I thought I could never earn an income through farming. My friends who have built houses and successful lives all worked with banks and big corporations, so farming seemed impractical. But when I received proper training and began to take my livestock and field seriously, my whole life changed! I grew a great expanse of corn which I stored well thanks to the method learned during our training at ELI, and at the right time I was able to sell the produce and buy 3 cows. Each cow gives me 6,000 K-shs ($60) a month from milk. Over time, I managed to buy chickens as well and now have over 100! In addition to this, I have 2 acres of land where I continually plant beans and produce. This provides another 20,000 K-shs ($200) every two weeks.
“Before the training, I knew I had space for agricultural projects, but I never had the knowledge on how to use the land well. I even tried poultry farming several times but failed until I went to ELI training. Now I am stable, earning a God-honoring income, and providing for my family. After seeing my success in farming, the leader of my community even asked me to share my knowledge with others! Thank God for this opportunity to empower my community and crush the cycle of poverty.”
Fred's life has completely transformed thanks to partners like you who made it possible! Because of the training he received, Fred has now been able to share his knowledge and skills with 500 people and reach out to struggling alcoholics in his community. You are truly helping to empower others and ignite World Changers!
