Jane Samoei
At 21, Jane’s life was in turmoil. She was a struggling single mother, trapped in a life of brewing alcohol, and caught in a violent marriage. Broken and desperate, she found herself hardened and alone . . . until grace broke through!
One day, while listening to a Christian radio station, a long-forgotten scripture pierced her soul: “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow” (Isaiah 1:18). That verse was one she used to hear in her childhood Sunday school lessons, which quickly melted her defenses and ushered in repentance. That day, Jane gave her life to Jesus and committed to sharing the same love with young children.
Before long, she began leading Sunday school classes under an acacia tree, yet she still lacked confidence and training. That changed in 2013 when Empowering Lives International team members visited her village. Through ELI’s Sunday school teacher training, Jane discovered her voice, learned to connect with children, and saw lives transformed! Since then, over 120 people have come to Christ through her ministry. Her church now has a vibrant Sunday school sanctuary with 30 regular students.
“I learned to love every child with the love of God, and suddenly I wasn’t just a better teacher—I was a deeper believer!”
From brewing alcohol to planting seeds of faith, Jane’s life is a testimony of restoration and how Jesus truly turns our mourning to dancing when we let Him! Through the support and prayers of our ELI family, people like Jane are igniting hope in the next generation.
