Linus Kipkoech

When we give back to those that help us along our life journey, we can find great joy and fulfillment. This has been especially true in the life of Linus Kipkoech!

Ever since he was a young boy being raised in our Kipkaren Children’s Home, Linus had a dream of becoming a teacher. He even recalls how his immense passion and love for God earned him the nickname “Pastor” at a very young age, saying, “I used to teach my siblings at the Children’s Home about scripture, and whenever I got the chance at church I would share the Gospel.” Linus’ heart for teaching and spreading positivity would set the stage for his future as an educator—fulfilling his childhood dream!

He didn’t achieve this dream simply through desire; it was through hard work, commitment to following God’s guidance, and consistent dedication to his studies. Linus pursued his bachelor’s degree in Education Arts at the Presbyterian University of Kenya, displaying his true passion for teaching through each lecture, lab, and assignment. Upon completion of his studies, Linus returned to his community, first teaching at Chomisia Primary School before finding his way back to Brook of Faith Academy, the school he attended as a child! Linus now teaches there in the fields of History, Christian Religion Education, Agriculture, and Computer Skills.

Linus is so grateful for the love and support he received from Empowering Lives International, acknowledging the pivotal role they played in shaping his future. “I am happy to have come back and inspire others through teaching,” he earnestly remarks. “Thanks to Empowering Lives, I now have hope and the opportunity to share my skills with the children both at school and in our Children’s Home. I am truly blessed to be able to give back to the children who are in the same place I was years ago, and none of this would have been possible without the support of our entire ELI family.”
