Vitaline Jerop

From a mother to a teacher, a farmer, a wife, and above all, a child of God—Vitaline’s life is evidence of one who has lived out this scripture:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” - Philippians 4:13

However, Vitaline didn’t always expect to live such a fulfilling life. At a young age, she tragically lost her parents, leaving her to take on the responsibility of caring for her struggling grandmother and younger brother. Vitaline spent her days facing hunger and uncertainty, leaving little time to dream of a brighter future . . . but then, a ray of hope shined through when ELI stepped in to help. Through the grace of God, Vitaline and her brother were provided with everything they needed and more through our Ilula Children’s Home—food, shelter, medical care, the comforting Word of God, and access to a quality education. Little did Vitaline know, this education would change the course of life completely.

From the moment she first entered the classroom, Vitaline began to excel in her studies, consistently standing out as one of the brightest students from elementary to high school. She found true joy and excitement in learning, and she couldn’t wait to return day after day. As she enthusiastically continued on to college, an opportunity she once never thought she would be given, Vitaline soared to even greater heights! She majored in English and Literature, worked hard to earn a diploma in Education Arts, and eventually secured a job as a teacher—allowing her to empower young students to dream big!

After graduating from college, Vitaline was filled with a renewed sense of purpose and passion. In addition to teaching, she began farming to supply produce to her community, she became regularly involved in her local church, and she began a family of her own with a loving husband and 3 precious children. Now, she is able to send her own children to school, knowing it will have a profound impact on their live just as it did on hers.  

Vitaline is a true World Changer, making a difference both at home and in her workplace. Through your support, ELI has been able to be a part of molding a truly remarkable woman who embodies the qualities of Proverbs 31. She is a woman of faith, a provider, and a positive influence on those around her. We thank God for transforming Vitaline’s life, and we can’t wait to see what she does next!
