Mevin Jepkemboi
Mevin Jepkemboi was welcomed into ELI’s Kipkaren Children’s Home in 2006. There, she grew up surrounded by love, stability, and encouragement as she pursued her education and began building a hopeful future. Over the years, Mevin continued to grow in both knowledge and confidence, pursuing her calling with determination and a deep desire to serve others.

Today, Mevin is living out that calling as a teacher at Mumetet Junior Academy, where she teaches Christian Religious Education (CRE), Kiswahili, and Social Studies to grades 4–7. She stepped into this role in 2025 after completing her studies in special education at Mt. Kenya University, and she now uses both her training and her heart for children to guide her classroom each day.
In her work, Mevin is deeply intentional about shaping not just academic understanding, but character and confidence. She especially treasures teaching CRE, where she helps students grow in their understanding of God’s Word and lights up as she sees them begin to live out what they are learning. For her, the classroom is a place of both learning and ministry!
Mevin’s journey has been shaped by the foundation she received at ELI, from consistent care and quality education to the spiritual encouragement that helped form her sense of purpose. That same foundation continues to echo through her life today as she invests in the next generation with the same love she once received. We can’t wait to see how the Lord continues to work through her in amazing ways!
