Clare's early childhood was filled with hardship. After losing her mother at a young age, she was raised by her elderly grandmother, and together they worked in the tea farms to earn enough for their daily meals. Through it all, her grandmother's faith remained strong, and she prayed that one day Clare's life would be different.

In 2023, those prayers were answered! After a village visit by the ELI team, Clare was welcomed into the Kipkaren Children's Home, where she was given the chance to learn, grow, and simply be a child again. Her joy was immeasurable, and she quickly began to grow academically, spiritually, and in confidence.

Her grandmother beams with pride and is also being strengthened and encouraged through Clare's journey with ELI. “I am so happy for Clare’s growth and the support she has received from her ELI family,” she says. “When she came home to visit recently, she prayed for us, taught us a memory verse, and even stood before the church to greet the congregation without fear. Thank you so much, ELI, for this.”

Today, Clare no longer has to toil in the tea farms to secure a meal. She attends school daily, receives proper nourishment, and continues to grow in her spiritual journey, surrounded by care and stability. Through ELI's holistic care, both Clare and her grandmother are experiencing hope, dignity, and encouragement in their lives.
