Faith Jepchumba
Meet Faith Jepchumba, a 12-year-old who is full of joy and hope even though her journey began with deep hardship. When Faith was just a toddler, her mother tragically passed away, leaving the children in the care of their aging grandmother. For years, Faith’s life was filled with instability, hunger, and grief.
Then, in 2016, everything changed! Faith and her younger brother were welcomed into the ELI Kipkaren Children’s Home through a connection in their local church. At first, Faith was shy, quiet, and withdrawn—but with time, she blossomed into the outgoing, confident, and friendly girl she is today.
Now in 7th grade, Faith has shown incredible academic growth as well. Her teachers describe her as engaged, curious, and eager to learn, which is especially remarkable given the challenges she faced early in life. She is especially drawn to reading and writing, and dreams of helping others one day, just as she received help from her ELI family.
Not only has Faith come out of her shell socially and academically, she has come alive spiritually! She participates joyfully in daily devotions, memorizes Scripture, and is known for her beautiful singing voice during worship. Her faith in God is growing every day, and she’s often seen encouraging other children with kind words and smiles.
We thank God for the remarkable transformation in Faith’s life. With continued support, Faith now has the chance to chase her dreams, knowing she is loved, safe, and deeply valued! Thank you, ELI friends and partners, for making stories like Faith’s possible.
