Vincent Kipsang
Meet Vincent Kipsang (KK-099), born in Nandi County, Kenya. Vincent was orphaned at age four, after the death of his mother in 2012. He went to live with his elderly grandfather who was extremely ill and unable to provide for his grandson. At age 6, Vincent had to work to help support himself and his grandfather. Because of this, Vincent was not able to attend school on a regular basis, and his future was seemingly without hope. But Vincent’s family had heard of the good work ELI was doing to help impoverished orphans. The grandfather then took Vincent on the long trip to ELI Kipkaren where Vincent could start his new life.
Upon arrival at the home in 2014, Vincent was timid and had difficulty asking for something he wanted. He was shy around other children, kept to himself, and watched others play. After months of unconditional love and endless efforts to gain his trust, Vincent not only gained the ability to trust, but began to enjoy his new family and friends.
Through daily Bible Devotions, Vincent developed a passion for learning to read the Bible and apply it to his life. By reading the Bible, his love for God grew, and his relationship with the Lord strengthened. He saw how his older brothers and sisters lead devotions through praise and worship. Music, dance, and drama became a new way to serve and express his love for Jesus.
Vincent is now 13 and in the 4th grade. He is hardworking and growing to be an extremely smart and talented young man. He has an amazing memory and can break it down on the dance floor! Vincent has become one of the most active and confident children at the home. He is a talented singer, both in the choir and leading praise and worship on Sunday, and during daily devotions. He even dreams of becoming a pastor one day! Today Vincent is happy and thanks ELI for the care, love, and education that set him on a path for a hope-filled future that will empower him to become a World Changer.
