Gabriel Kiptanui
Gabriel Kiptanui’s story is a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness and the life-changing impact partners like you are making through ELI! Orphaned at a young age in Kombatich, Kenya, Gabriel’s future was uncertain until 2004, when he joined our Ilula Children’s Home. There, he found not only safety and care, but a Christ-centered family that nurtured his faith, education, and sense of purpose.
Early on, Gabriel struggled significantly with stammering and writing, making communication and school especially challenging. Through the patient, consistent mentorship of his house parents and teachers, Gabriel was given the tools he needed to grow. What once felt like impossible obstacles slowly became part of a testimony God was shaping for a greater purpose!
Today, Gabriel serves as an English and Literature teacher with the Teachers Service Commission—a remarkable outcome given his early challenges. He sees his classroom as a ministry, has taught in multiple schools, and faithfully mentors students in both academics and faith. His life motto, “Hard work with Jesus pays off,” reflects the perseverance that defines his journey.

Beyond the classroom, Gabriel is deeply involved in community development and church leadership, living out the values instilled in him at the Children’s Home. From a boy unsure of tomorrow to a man shaping future generations, Gabriel’s life reflects the heart of ELI’s mission: transformed lives that go on to transform others!
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support that make stories like Gabriel’s possible. Your generosity continues to create lasting impact—one life, one family, and one community at a time.
