Nicole Jepkemboi
Nicole Jepkemboi’s life began with challenges that would test even the strongest spirit when her mother, Sharon, tragically passed away unexpectedly. Left in the care of her great-grandmother, whose age and health made it difficult to provide the support Nicole needed, her future felt uncertain. Hoping to give her a chance at a better life, her great-grandmother made the difficult decision to bring Nicole to the Ilula Children's Home.
Upon arrival, Nicole was shy and adjusting to a completely new environment. With the care and guidance of her house parents, along with the ongoing support of her great-grandmother, Nicole gradually began to feel at home. Daily family meals, engaging conversations, and impactful devotions have helped her settle in and grow in confidence.
One of the most impactful opportunities Nicole experienced once entering the Children’s Home was the chance to go to school, where she is now in second grade. She loves getting to wear her “smart” (Kenyan term for very nice looking) school uniform and is enjoying her teacher, learning, and making new friends!
Thanks to her sponsors and ELI partners, she is on a path toward a hope-filled future. Her story is still being written, and the chapters ahead promise joy, growth, and endless possibility. We can’t wait to see where God leads her!
